Through some amazing connections between the local Moms on a Mission group that I’m a part of and GiGi’s Playhouse Canton, I was introduced to Rick Miller, publishing franchise owner, and [re]introduced to Mike Sturdivant, marketing specialist and content creator, to talk about their newest endeavor – the Akron/Canton Special Needs Living magazine. What started as coffee at Whole Latte Love Cafe turned into the most incredible opportunity.
Special Needs Living is a nonprofit magazine celebrating the kids, families, & resources of our local special needs community, and I now have the honor of being a quarterly contributor. My first article was published in the September 2022 issue and reading all of the positive feedback was overwhelming and surreal.
I never knew I had such a passion for special needs, genetics, and writing… but here we are. And I’m so thrilled and grateful to be a part of this. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to share my “parent perspective” and to help others.
