Home Nutrition

🥳🥳🥳 As of September 6th 2022, Izzy is an official GRADUATE of her feeding team consisting of her nutritionist and her speech therapist!!! She weighed in at 16.6 pounds (3rd percentile) and measured 27.4 inches long (<1st percentile), which puts her at the 21st percentile of weight to length ratio – proportionate and perfect! Izzy continues to grow along her curve as expected, so with no concerns at this time, she is able to follow the typical toddler feeding guidelines and her growth will be monitored by her pediatrician. WAY TO GO, IZZY SNOW! 🤩👏🏼😍🙌🏼

1 year old update: Izzy is still small, but she’s trending wonderfully & in the right direction on *her* growth curve! We stopped the baby food milkshakes 😆 and just continued to add a little bit of oatmeal into each of her Similac Sensitive bottles, but now we are super excited that she is taking whole milk like a champ! We’re still thickening the milk with a touch of oatmeal, but only because her bottle nipple flows at a very fast pace! At 8 months old, Izzy finally doubled her birth weight! And at her 11 month appointment, she clocked in at 15 pounds 11 ounces and measured 25.5 inches long! I can now also take a breath – since our girl is at a point to where I feel comfortable stopping, I am proud to say that I stuck to my goal of 365 days of keeping my ‘Izzy feeding diary’. We’re both happy to say goodbye to that!

As 2021 comes to an end, Izzy continues to trend in the right direction!

Next to endocrinology, I would say nutrition is our second biggest component. We have contact with the nutritionist/dietician on a frequent basis, and when we aren’t having in-person visits, we communicate through mychart messenger regarding updates from the pediatrician, the endocrinologist, and GI.

Since Izzy’s discharge from Children’s on July 30th, she has had 4 appointments with her nutritionist on top of regularly scheduled weight checks. This specialist has been in charge of formula, calorie supplements, protein supplements, bottle amounts, and growth.

To help keep track of everything, I have documented every single feed, every single day, since July 20th.

Izzy’s latest weight was taken on December 21st & showed her at 12 lbs. 10 oz. and her latest length was measured on November 11th @ 22.5 inches long. We were told that her growth looks good & she is following her weight growth curve! Weight is around the 5th percentile. Length is around the 1st percentile.

Last nutrition appointment of the year was October 12th. Next appointment will be in January.

First appointment just Mommy & Izzy – Dad had his own PT appointment following Achilles tendon surgery!
